One year ago, we began building Blucindustry with a simple idea: make the process of getting concrete blocks to a construction site easier to coordinate.
We saw how builders had to manage block suppliers separately for different sites, make countless phone calls to confirm availability, negotiate arrangements, and keep asking, "Oga where is my truck?"
We knew there was a better way.
That is why we built the Blucindustry mobile app - so builders can order concrete blocks from their phone, provide their project site location, specify the type and quantity required, select a delivery date, and monitor the progress of their order from production through delivery.
What We Have Been Solving
For many construction projects, sourcing blocks means contacting multiple block industries, confirming availability, and repeatedly following up to find out when an order will be ready.
We were not created to replace existing block industries. Instead, we work with local production operations and coordinate block supply through verified production and delivery partners.
Our approach connects digital ordering with the existing network of block manufacturers already serving construction projects. Our focus remains specifically on concrete block supply, with technology being used to improve how orders move from the builder to production and ultimately to the project site.
Bringing Visibility to Block Supply
One of the key things we built in our first year was visibility.
With us, an order does not end once payment is made. Our customers receive updates as their blocks move through stages of production and supply, including production, loading, transportation and delivery.
We designed this to give builders and site managers better visibility while reducing the need for repeated calls simply to determine the status of an order.
For construction professionals managing several sites at the same time, having order information available on a mobile device provides a more structured way to coordinate material supply.
Our First Year Was About Building The Foundation
Our first year was about testing our model in the real construction environment and understanding what builders actually need from a digital block-supply platform.
We focused on practical features, not just putting a traditional block-industry business online. We kept improving our ordering process, delivery coordination, customer notifications and our relationships with local production partners.
So this anniversary is more than a date on the calendar for us. It marks the completion of our first year spent building and testing a digital infrastructure around a product that remains fundamental to construction: concrete blocks.
Where We Are Headed
Nigeria's construction industry still depends heavily on local suppliers and decentralized production. While digital platforms have transformed payments, transportation and commerce, many construction-material transactions are still handled through traditional channels.
We are positioning ourselves within this gap.
We combine a mobile ordering system with local production capacity, allowing builders to continue purchasing concrete blocks through local manufacturing operations while gaining a more structured digital experience for ordering and tracking supply.
As we enter our second year, our objective remains the same: to continue improving the experience of ordering and receiving concrete blocks for builders and construction professionals.
Our long-term ambition is to make block supply easier to access from a phone while maintaining the local production network that already serves construction sites.
One year in, we are just getting started. We are grateful to every builder, engineer, site supervisor and partner who believed in us and trusted us with their sites.
